Dayton Historical Society restored this 1900 school that was originally located across the street where the Dayton Post Office is today. There were two teachers to serve grades 1-7. It opened in September of 1900 with 36 students. By 1910 they had outgrown the building and sold it to two businessmen who moved it to the present site across the street. It was used for rental and as a home for W.B. & Ivy Jamison. A new 2 story brick building was built on it’s old location and provided for grades 1-8.
