Athens Scuba Park

The waters of Athens Scuba Park are fed by a spring that has a depth between 20 to 35 feet. Equipped with facilities that provide maximum safety, hot/cold showers, covered pavilions, and camping areas. For entertainment the park holds treasures hunts and over thirty wrecks that can be explored that include a Jet Star plane and the first Greyhound bus that Ray Priced toured in. Equipment can be rented at the park as well.

Boating in Big Thicket

The waterways of Big Thicket National Preserve draw boating enthusiasts from all over Texas, the country, and the world. Big Thicket has two official canoeing trails, but these are just a fraction of the canoeing, kayaking, and other boating experiences the preserve affords, which also include wild-river experiences along the Neches River and the primal pleasures of paddling through cypress and tupelo swamps in Pine Island Bayou.
