Neches Journeys: Land, River, and People
Traveling exhibit celebrates cultural heritage.
The Neches was an important nineteenth-century transportation route and, more recently, has become a popular recreational area. A traveling exhibit on the cultural heritage of the Neches River Basin, created by Humanities Texas and The History Center in Diboll, is currently at the Ben J. Rogers Regional Visitors Center near Beaumont and will travel to the First Street Arts Center in Lufkin for the Neches River Rendezvous June 6-7.

BioBlitz At Big Thicket
A science experience for the whole family.
Researchers will be in the field collecting data throughout the week, and on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14th those scientists will showcase their data. This is an opportunity for the general public to be a part of real science and on Saturday, it’s a fun day for the whole family with booths, hands on activities, and free food.
