Ghost Road Scenic Drive

Dirt road through forest

The birding is great along Ghost Road. Trees--pines, oaks, sweet gums, hollies--line either side of the long dirt road, giving travelers the illusion of driving through a dense forest. But Ghost Road’s claim to fame--as its name implies--is as the site of numerous spirit-sightings and other paranormal experiences.

The Ghost Road is situated in the heart of the Big Thicket. It begins at a bend on Farm-to-Market Road 787 that is 1.7 miles north of the intersection of FM 787-770, near Saratoga.

Boating is permitted from April through October. Read more>
